The new customization options for the Grammarly agent make it easier to fine-tune your writing preferences and shape how your text is corrected so the suggestions you see are always on point.
How to access
To customize Grammarly, you need one of the following Superhuman or Grammarly products:
- Superhuman Go for Windows and Superhuman Go for Mac
- Superhuman Go browser extension for Chrome or Edge
- Grammarly for Windows and Mac, after turning on Superhuman Go in settings
- Grammarly browser extension for Chrome or Edge, after turning on Superhuman Go in settings
How to customize
You can adjust Grammarly suggestions in three different ways:
1. Turn off a certain type of correction directly from the suggestion card
Once you click the three horizontal dots on a suggestion card, you might see an option titled “Hide suggestions like this.” This option is available for certain categories of suggestions, such as the Oxford comma, semicolons, em dashes, and more.
The Grammarly agent, just like classic Grammarly, also corrects full sentences and paragraphs. You’ll now see an open-ended chat field below a full-sentence rewrite suggestion. Click on the Revise or ask a follow-up field and type in custom instructions to change this type of correction moving forward. The instructions will be saved in agent settings for future use.
2. Customize suggestions in the AI Chat
Set your writing preferences exactly how you want, right from the side panel of the Go chat window — “Write AM and PM in uppercase when formatting times,” “Enforce American English dialect,” or some other specific setting that you prefer. The instructions you can set are not limited to a fixed set of rules.
3. Set your writing preferences directly in agent settings
To access the agent settings, follow these steps:
- Go to go.superhuman.com and expand the side panel by clicking the menu icon
in the upper-left corner.
- Hover your cursor over the Grammarly agent and click on the three-dot icon that appears.
- Select Settings.
On this page, you have multiple customization options:
