Grammarly for Safari doesn’t appear on Google Docs or other websites

Grammarly for Safari may not work as expected due to an outdated version. To resolve the issue, we recommend updating the browser extension by following the steps below:

Open the App Store on your Mac, search for Grammarly, and click Update next to Grammarly: AI Writing App.

If you would like to reinstall the extension, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Open Safari
  2. Click the Safari tab → Settings... → Extensions
  3. Uncheck the Enabled box to switch off the extension:
  4. Go to Finder → Applications
  5. Right-click Grammarly for Safari and select Move to Trash or Move to Bin from the dropdown menu. If prompted, enter the password to your computer to confirm the deletion
  6. Visit this page to install Grammarly for Safari: Grammarly: AI Writing Support

To make sure you are using the up-to-date version going forward, go to App Store → Preferences and ensure the Automatic Updates setting is enabled.

Additionally, to check whether Grammarly integrates with a certain website, go to the following page and type the website name in the search field:

Check if your favorite apps and websites work with Grammarly and Superhuman Go

If you see the Unsupported status, it generally means we don’t support that website’s framework. For example, iFrame is currently unsupported in Safari.
