The Grammarly tab disappeared

If you installed Grammarly for MS Office but the Grammarly tab doesn't appear in your MS Word or MS Outlook, please try running the installer with Administrator permissions.

If this didn't help, we suggest that you launch the EnableGrammarly.exe file. It’s a couple of simple steps:

1. Close Word.
2. Press Win+R
3. Copy and paste %LOCALAPPDATA%\Grammarly\Grammarly for Microsoft Office Suite into the search line. This will open the Grammarly folder on your PC. Navigate to the folder with the latest Grammarly version.
4. There should be a folder with a name similar to B788D630FFA4301BCC50E5A81D7BE34; please open it.
5. Right click on EnableGrammarly.exe and select Run as administrator.
6. Press Enable Grammarly Add-in.

If the Grammarly tab still doesn't appear or simply disappeared, please try all of the following troubleshooting suggestions until it appears:

  1. Open Word, click the round Microsoft Office button (or File), click Word Options, and then click Add-Ins.
  2. In the View and Manage Microsoft Office Add-ins pane, in the Manage list, select COM Add-ins and click Go.

  4. Find and select Grammarly (if you don't see Grammarly, please see below).
  5. See Load behavior at the bottom of the dialog box:

If it says "Not loaded. A runtime error occurred during the loading of the COM Add-in", then follow the instructions here: Unable to activate the add-in.
