To resolve this issue, follow the instructions below:
If you are logged in to your Grammarly account at https://app.grammarly.com, but the issue persists, right-click the G icon in the browser's toolbar, click This Can Read and Change Site Data, and check the box next to On All Sites:
Then, please restart your browser and check if the issue persists.
Step 1: Sign out of the Grammarly Editor:
- Go to https://app.grammarly.com and click Sign Out in the left-side panel
Step 2: Clear Grammarly cookies:
- Copy-paste this line into the Firefox address bar: about:preferences#privacy
- Locate the Cookies and Site Data section and click Manage Browsing Data
- In the Search websites field, type Grammarly
- Click Remove All Shown, then click Save Changes and OK if prompted
Step 3: Allow cookies for Grammarly specifically:
- Open https://www.grammarly.com
- Click the lock icon in the address bar
- Select Connection Secure → More Information
- Under Permissions, ensure that:
- Set Cookies is set to Allow (uncheck the Use Default option and set it to Allow)

Store data in persistent storage is also set to Allow.
This allows Grammarly to keep your sign-in data available to the extension without changing Firefox’s global privacy settings.
Step 4: Sign back in to Grammarly:
- Open any other webpage (e.g., translate.google.com) and click the Grammarly browser extension icon in your browser's toolbar
- In the pop-up that opens next, click Sign in
- Use the appropriate sign-in option to log in to your account.
- Restart your browser.
