If you see this error message, please temporarily disable your VPN, antivirus and firewall software. If that helps, please add Grammarly to the software’s whitelist.
If you’re using Grammarly in a corporate environment and you cannot disable your antivirus and firewall software or add Grammarly to this software’s whitelist, please ask your IT administrator to do that.
Note: Grammarly’s desktop app for Windows doesn’t currently support proxy, so if you're using a proxy, please try disabling it and let us know if that doesn't help. If you are not sure whether you use a proxy, please follow these steps:
- Right-click on the Start button and click Control Panel
- In the Control Panel window, select Internet Options
- In the Internet Options window, go to the Connections tab and click the LAN Settings button
- If Use a proxy server for your LAN is not checked, it means that you don't use a proxy server
