This is where you can set up and customize the Grammarly Keyboard. Here you can:

  • Personalize the Grammarly Keyboard
  • Manage your language preference and personal dictionary

The companion app should be available in your device’s menu as Grammarly

Checking text

Once the Grammarly Keyboard is installed on your device, open any app and tap on any text field to pull up the keyboard. You can then start typing, and the Grammarly Keyboard will start providing suggestions.

If there is a common mistake or a typo, Grammarly will automatically correct the text and notify you about the change in the completions bar.

Alternatively, Grammarly will provide a suggestion you can accept or dismiss—you’ll see the number of suggestions next to the Grammarly icon:

To accept a suggestion, tap on it in the suggestions bar.

If you’d like to see a detailed explanation of the suggestion, tap on the Grammarly icon in the upper-left corner of the keyboard. If there are several suggestions for your text, swipe left to read additional information about the next suggestion:

This menu also offers an option to dismiss a suggestion. If Grammarly offered an irrelevant suggestion, tap Ignore in the lower-right corner of the suggestion card.

You can also check the tone of your message when using the Grammarly Keyboard for Android. To learn more about this feature, check out this article.

Using emoji, GIFs, stickers, and clips

With the Grammarly Keyboard for Android, you can use emoji, GIFs, stickers, and clips in your messages.

To add any of those options, tap the emoji icon next to the spacebar and then select one from the lower part of the keyboard.

To change your default emoji skin tone, open the Grammarly app and tap Keyboard > Emoji skin tone. You can also press and hold certain emoji in the menu to see skin tone options.
