I'd like to request international grammar and spelling settings, giving people the options of switching between USA, Canada, UK, and Australian standards of english would be incredibly helpful, if this option already exists please let me know!

thanks for your consideration

Is anyone out there willing to check this sentence for me? I know it sounds silly but my microsoft word keeps telling me that this sentence is wrong because I use the verb "have."  This is sample verb subject agreement. lol it looks like my software is going coco.  "Obedience to Authority and influence of authority have devastating effects on human behavior.

Dear users,

Grammarly checks for American and British English and performs three main functions:

1. Text proofreading (grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure): all potential errors are highlighted for you to review. The user has full control over the correction process; you can choose a correction option from the list provided.

2. Full plagiarism assessment: your text is compared to the complete Internet web index. This way you can be sure that your work is original.

3. Text enhancement feature: suggestions for improved vocabulary use (including synonyms) will be made.

Dear Alicia,

What did you mean by "What is the update on the international grammar, spelling setting and English request?" What are the new features that you're looking for in Grammarly?

Hi Valerie

I think Alicia is thinking about distinguishing between the different kinds of English. Personally, I am interested in UK English.

My name is not spelled the common way and I would like to add my spelling into the dictionary so that it will not be highlighted as incorrect each time I check the text.  Can this be done?

I use Grammarly add-on on my MS Word 2010 to check my short stories.  The names of my characters are not traditional American/English names.   For the most part the are, Japanese, German, Spanish, Indian, etc...   My problem is with the spell check function.  Usually I have over 140 spelling mistakes.  The spelling mistakes are usually the characters' names.  When a check ignore, the name is ignored only one.  Is there anyway to 'ignore' a name throughout the whole document?

Dear Ivar,

Thank you -- currently there is no way to distinguish between American and British English as Grammarly checks for grammar and spelling for both of them at the same time.

What behavior are you specifically looking for aside from this default behavior?

Is to switch to US English and have "colour" marked as wrong? Or to UK English and have "color" marked as wrong?

Dear Arleen,

At this time, it is not possible to add words to the dictionary by a user. It is part of our roadmap to add new words to Grammarly dictionary, however.

Dear Valerie,

I need to have an option for UK English set so that "color" is marked as wrong.
