I have MS Office 2007, but when I try to edit from WORD a box pops up saying it "cannot check my text" and moves the document into the same site that is used without the Word add-in feature. Is this normal? Do I have to keep cutting and pasting back and forth from Word?

I was counting on the Word 2003 add-in, too, but am finding working straight from the website and toggling back and forth between Word and Grammarly.com to be an easy way to work. I initially thought I'd do my editing on the website and then cut-and-paste it in its entirety back to word, but then I'd lose my formating and the website's not great for editing. Now, I use Grammarly to spot the error and do a quick one- or two-word search for the same location in my Word doc and make the change. It's really pretty simple. Still lookin' forward to the 2003 fix, but this will suite me for now. (I probably sound like I work for the site, but I'm just a newbie fan.)

Well, like everyone else I'm not able to see the Word add-on, when I open up Microsoft Word 2003. Please give me some advice to use until all the areas of the program are fixed. So I would have to type my research papers on Grammarly to get corrections and than paste them to Microsoft Words. Just let me know if this is how I will have to do it until everything is fixed.

1. There is no user manual for the Word add-in, either within the download or even on the website. If Word 2007 users are definitely using this add-in, where is the manual for them?
2. The Word add-in does not work for me in Word 2003. There is no extra menu, no extra menu item and no information that the installation has failed. Are we installing somethin that actually does nothing, except persuade us to part with our monthly subscription? How long do we have to wait before this issue is fixed (is it broken?) or actually made to work?
Both points need answering, before I decide on whether to continue with my subscription.

Dear Angela Rivers,
Please review Usage Manual and let me know if you face problems:
I switched from Word 2003 to 2010 thinking I would be able to work in word but it transfers to grammerly - Is this how it is supposed to work? I would like it to work within word so that the formatting stays without having to transfer every correction. As well it would be nice to be able to have a varsion for fiction writing where things like contractions can be disabled.
I downloaded and installed Grammarly in MSWord 2003. It does not show up in the menu file though Igot the message-properly installed. What do I do? I am running Windows XP on a Dell Inspiron 9300 with 2GB memory.

You add-in still does not work with Word 2003. From the comments you keep promising to have it fixed but the comments go back one whole year! Why don't you at least put a warning on the DOWNLOAD page to let others know that 2003 is not compatible? Then, at least, we could decided if cutting an pasting is worth the effort. So far I am not impressed and I just signed up for a year.

Dear all,
For anyone with further questions, I thought it would be useful to summarize some current add-in issues and their solutions:
1. When installing the add-in you must close Word and Outlook, otherwise the button will appear only after the restart.
2. The button does not appear if Word is running in a non-standard mode (it goes into a "configuration mode").
3. The button can disappear because of errors in the add-in or if your Word was closed incorrectly. Word should display a message that the session was completed incorrectly and offer to disable Grammarly plugin. If you click yes, the button disappears. Unfortunately, in this case, reinstalling does not help -- you'll need to enable the plug-in in the MS Office by using a program Enable_Grammarly.exe (it can be found as an attachment here).
4. If the program on a panel to your right asks you to "Upgrade now", it is necessary that you contact us at support.grammarly.com by creating a ticket and we will investigate your specific case.
5. If the program throws an error -- please use the link "Send report to developers". This will send an error information to the development team.
